Foster & Son

A Legacy Recrafted for a New Generation

Breathing new life into a storied shoemaker, with a refreshed brand identity, digital presence and visual storytelling rooted in heritage and craft.

Foster & Son is London’s oldest bespoke shoemaker, crafting hand-made shoes and boots since 1840. Known for their meticulous attention to detail and mastery of traditional techniques, the brand has long served royalty, statesmen and discerning customers around the world. Every pair is produced by a dedicated team of artisans, using methods that have been passed down for generations, delivering elegance, comfort and durability in equal measure.

The Challenge: Honouring the Past While Embracing the Future

As Foster & Son prepared to launch a new ready-to-wear collection and open a modern production facility in Northampton, they faced a delicate balancing act. The challenge was to introduce the brand to a wider, more contemporary audience while preserving the heritage, authenticity and exclusivity that had defined it for nearly two centuries. They needed a revitalised identity, compelling visual content and a new digital presence that could tell their story without diluting their legacy.

Our Strategy: Craft Meets Clarity Across Every Touchpoint

We approached the project with a deep respect for the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship. Our goal was to bring these qualities to the forefront through refined branding, design and photography, while creating space for new audiences to engage with the Foster & Son offering. From redefining the visual identity to building a flexible digital platform, our strategy was to deliver a seamless blend of storytelling, commerce and tradition that could adapt to the brand’s evolving ambitions.

The Solution: A Brand Reinvented, Authentically Told

We developed a full suite of brand and digital assets, including a fully functioning website, refreshed print collateral and an extensive photographic library capturing every stage of the shoemaking process. The imagery tells the story of the people behind the shoes as much as the products themselves, bringing warmth and depth to the brand’s narrative. With a renewed identity and toolset in place, Foster & Son is now poised to expand its reach while remaining firmly rooted in its artisanal origins.
